Why did a manual tranny’d XV have to get traded in here at work?

Kinja'd!!!

I have an unnatural want for one. Maybe in a few more years when they’ve depreciated a little more....

My gf’s next car is probably going to be a 5-door Impreza Sport Premium (heated cloth seats + sunroof). The XV has more ground clearance and the slightly truckier tires but she doesn’t like the look of the extra cladding.

Things the XV needs to go from a good car to a great one:

More power

The end.

Bah. I love the look of them, especially with slightly more aggressive tires and a slight lift.

It’d be nice to not have to worry about low driveways, snow banks, the occasional off-road session, etc again.

I miss my Wagoon.

I had one of these as a loaner whilst my BRZ was having some warranty work done to it, normally I hate CUV/SUVs but there was something about this that I liked.

Perhaps it was the boxer engine that made a nice roar when I put my foot down or maybe the comfort levels, idk

I fucking hate Wisconsin driveways. Why are they all so steep?! I’ve been taking them diagonally for YEARS. That’s my favorite part of my Jeep for the winter. Just drive up driveways without having to angle it. I shouldn’t need a raised vehicle to accomplish this, but here we are.

I really need to get down to one vehicle, and I’ve been tempted by an Infiniti FX50 because it’s got the clearance for driveways and also fun to chuck around turns. But since I just took my 135is out of winter storage, I’ve been really enjoying it, and I’m thinking of selling my Jeep, buying the 135is when the lease ends, and putting snows on for winter.

But those goddamn driveways...

yes, XV XT! 220hp or so would be plenty, that’s about what the old Forster XTs had, and the XV is a bit smaller.

What it needs is the 2.5, a turbo would be gravy. FYI the old Forester XT’s were advertised at 226 hp but that turned out to be an undersell as even stock at high altitude they put out 225+ at the wheels. I could tell you from personal experience that it felt like a lot more than 226.
